Leadership on campus: EcoRep, Yellow Bike Club President
Environmental Mission: Reduce green house gas emissions through alternative transportation within Bowdoin and the Brunswick Community
How have you been involved in sustainability efforts on campus? I was an Eco-Rep during the 2008-2009 year.
What course or professor helped you to connect with sustainability on campus? Though my drive and passion for sustainability was established long before I arrived at Bowdoin, I would say that it was actually my work as an Eco-Rep where I was able to connect with sustainability on a tangible level on campus. However, I would also add that, in leading the Yellow Bike Club, I have discovered that bikes, as a means of alternative transportation, can significantly shape perceptions of what it means to achieve sustainability as well.
How do you think will you remain involved in sustainability efforts after graduation?
Wherever I work, live, or whatever it is that I'm doing, I know that being environmentally conscious, or sustainable will forever be a part of my life. In this regard, yes, I will pursue a kind of "green career" after college because I know it is what I am most passionate about; however, if it doesn't come to that, it will be a part of my life's mission to embody it as best as I can.
