Manage Your OneCard

OneCard

Students and full-time Faculty and Staff of Bowdoin College are eligible to receive ID cards.

Student residence halls at Bowdoin are equipped with on-line proximity card readers on their exterior doors. This means you must use your ID Card to open the exterior door of any residence hall. Most student rooms and apartments are equipped with off-line door readers that require an ID card to enter the space. Several administrative buildings and most computer labs require an ID card to gain access.

Students have access to their own residence hall 24 hours a day. All students have access to all residence halls between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 1:00 a.m. If you have an ID Card from a previous year, it will be activated when you arrive on campus. The College reserves the right to alter access to residence halls.

OneCard Office

The OneCard Office is located on the first floor of Coles Tower.  New or replacement ID's can be obtained from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Broken or Lost Cards

You must have a working ID card to access buildings on the system, eat in the dining halls, use your Polar Points, do your laundry, use the vending machines, use library printers and take books from the libraries.

If your card does not function for any of the above-mentioned tasks, please come to the OneCard Office and it will be fixed or replaced at no charge.

If you lose or break your card, you may obtain a new card for $15.00. This cost will be billed to your student account through the Bursar's Office. It is important to report stolen cards and have them replaced because anyone finding your card could not only gain access to your dorm and possibly your room, but could also use the card against your Polar Points or board accounts. To deactivate the funds on a lost card, please use the OneCard link above.
