Arrival Days 2011
Bowdoin College will hold Arrival Day events on Tuesday, August 23rd for students participating in a Pre-Orientation program and on Saturday, August 27th for the full Class of 2015. Arrival Days provide students and families with the opportunity to meet current students and staff, receive information about campus services, attend informational sessions, and unload belongings into dorm rooms.
The same activities are held on Tuesday and Saturday. Therefore, it is unnecessary for parents to attend both Arrival Days.
Please note: Pre-O trips will return to campus from early to late afternoon on Saturday, August 27th. Because of this, there may be a very limited time on Saturday for parents to see students who are returning from Pre-O trips, before the required student-only orientation events begin. Also, please note that students attending Pre-O’s will only be able to drop off belongings in dorm rooms. We respectfully ask that students do not unpack until Saturday, August 27th when all roommates are present. All First-year dorms will remain locked during Pre-Orientation trips and students will not have I.D. access until Saturday.
An Important Note as you plan your travel to Brunswick: Parking and hotel space could be at a premium on the weekend of 8/26-28. On Saturday, August 27th, The Great State of Maine Air Show & Business Aviation Expo will be taking place in Brunswick on the grounds of the former Brunswick Naval Air Station. This event, featuring the Navy's Blue Angels, is expected to bring a number of visitors to our area. We advise you to plan your travels with this in mind.
Arrival date for Pre-O Trip Participants
(You'll drop off your personal belongings in your dorm room, which will remain locked during your trip – Move in / Unpacking on Aug. 27th)
Return from Pre-O Trips & arrival for all members of the First Year Class
(Official Unpacking and Move in Date; Orientation Begins at 5:15 p.m.)
