Field Hockey Team Prepares to Defend NCAA Title This Weekend
The Bowdoin College field hockey team (17-2) will make their fourth consecutive appearance in the NCAA Semifinals this weekend in Collegeville, Pa. The defending national-champion Polar Bears, ranked third in the final NFHCA/STX Division III poll, will play the late game on Saturday against second-ranked Ursinus (18-1) at 2:00 p.m. Top-ranked Messiah (17-1) will face fourth-ranked Tufts (18-1) in the early semifinal at 11:00 a.m. Saturday's winners will play for the national championship at 1:00 p.m. Sunday.

November 7, 2008Bowdoin Eliminates Ticket Prices For Men's Hockey Games
BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College Athletic Department has announced the elimination of admission fees and season tickets to regular-season ice hockey games. The exception to the policy will be the weekend of January 16-18, as Bowdoin closes Dayton Arena and celebrates the opening of Sidney J. Watson Arena.

Bowdoin Announces New, Unified Polar Bear Logo
BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin Polar Bear has presented many faces in its nearly century-long tenure as College mascot at times simultaneously. In an effort to unify the logo into a consistent and timeless graphic identity, the College collaborated with the Morrow Creative Group of Portland, Ore., to achieve variations of a classic, stylized black line drawing and an accompanying new typeface.

Bowdoin Inducts Seventh Class into Athletic Hall of Honor
BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College Athletic Hall of Honor will welcome its seventh class on Homecoming Saturday, October 15. The five distinguished individuals span an astounding eight decades of Polar Bear athletics and includes some of the most recognizable names in the history of the institution. This year's inductees include coach Jack Magee, Bill McWilliams '57, Robinson Moore '77, Chris Jerome '83 and Emily LeVan '95.

Construction Continues on New Campus Fitness Center
BRUNSWICK, Maine - Construction has begun in earnest, as the west side of Morrell Gymnasium was torn down on August 12 to make way for the new state-of-the-art Campus Fitness Center.
