The Bowdoin College Museum of Art announces the arrival of ten masterpieces of Italian, Dutch, and Spanish painting on long-term loan from the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art, one of the nation's premiere museums, located in Hartford, Connecticut. Among these will be paintings by Giovanni Domenico Tiepolo, Giuseppe Ribera, and Aelbert Cuyp. Ranging in date from the late sixteenth-century to the mid eighteenth-century, these works will be integrated with selections from the permanent collection to offer a fresh perspective on centuries of radical painterly innovation.
