Arctic Museum preserves one of MacMillan's early films

Story posted September 14, 2011

With a grant from the National Film Preservation Foundation, the Arctic Museum has preserved and digitized one of Donald B. MacMillan's earliest edited films. Dating to 1930, but only recently donated to the museum, Visiting with the Eskimos of the Far North was the first film MacMillan produced for distribution, complete with intertitles. Prior to that (and afterward as well), he created silent films for which he provided live narration. Read more about this film here, and look for an announcement of a premier screening soon.
