A personal interview is strongly encouraged and is available to any student who plans to enter Bowdoin in Fall 2009 as either a first-year or transfer. On campus interviews are available throughout the year from the third week of May until mid-December.

Interviews off Campus
If you can't make it to campus, we encourage you to interview with a member of the Bowdoin Alumni Schools and Interviewing Committee (BASIC) closer to home. There are BASIC volunteers in many areas of the United States and a number of foreign countries. Alumni interviews may be requested between September 1, 2008 and January 1, 2009 by completing the online request form. Once we receive your request, an alum will contact you to set up an interview. Please note that in certain geographic areas, there are a limited number of alumni interviews available. Since interviews are not required, your file will not be considered incomplete without one.
You can get answers to your questions about Bowdoin not addressed in other materials. You can show the interviewer who you really are; that is, the real person behind the application. It's a win-win situation. You benefit. Bowdoin benefits.
