Maine Day Open House

On Monday, September 19, 2011, Bowdoin College will sponsor Maine Day, an open house for Maine high school students and their families to learn more about Bowdoin's academic and extracurricular offerings.

Registration

Registration for Maine Day has ended. For those who have already registered, please check in with us when you arrive on campus in Daggett Lounge, located next to Coles Tower in the Thorne Dining Hall. A campus map is available online.

Interviews

A limited number of interviews have been reserved in the afternoon on September 19 for Maine residents. Registration for Maine Day interviews has ended, however. If you would like to interview on campus on another day this fall, you may schedule one online.

8:15 - 9:00 Registration and breakfast in Daggett Lounge, Thorne Hall
9:00 - 9:15 Welcome and opening comments in Daggett Lounge, Thorne Hall
9:15 - 10:30 Campus tour (departs from Daggett) or attend classes
10:30 - 11:30 Student and Academic Life panel in Daggett Lounge or attend classes
11:30 - 12:30 Admissions and Financial Aid discussion in Daggett Lounge or attend classes
11:30 - 1:15 Lunch in Thorne Dining Hall; formal program concludes
1:00 - 2:25 Attend classes (1:00 classes last until 2:25 pm)
1:30 - 2:30 Campus tour departs from Admissions Office in Burton-Little
1:30 - 3:30 Optional interviews available for interested seniors.
1:30 Explore the campus, investigate the Smith Student union and bookstore, or venture to the coast.
 

Directions and Parking

Directions to Bowdoin's campus are available online. Parking is available in the Admissions parking lot outside the Admissions Office. If this lot is full, continue down College Street and take a left onto Sills Drive and park on the left hand side of the street.

Additional parking is available in the Farley Field House lot: Take College Street to Coffin Street and make a right onto Coffin. Take that to Longfellow Ave. and make a left onto Longfellow. Go one block and make a right onto Harpswell Rd., turning right, almost immediately into the Farley Fieldhouse parking lot. Additional parking may be available on Park Row, an access road that parallels upper Maine Street beside the College. If you park here or in areas adjacent to the College, please park with the flow of traffic.

Parking lots designated for those with blue faculty/staff stickers are available to visitors.

Note: Please do not park in the following areas: handicapped spaces unless applicable, emergency vehicle spots, or fire lanes. If you have questions about parking, call the Security Office at (207) 725-3314.
