If you find that it is not possible to have an interview on campus, we encourage you to interview with a member of the Bowdoin Alumni Schools and Interviewing Committee (BASIC) in your home region. There are BASIC volunteers in most areas of the United States and a number of foreign countries. Alumni interviews may be requested from September 1 through early December by completing the online request form. Once we receive your request, an alum will contact you to set up an interview. Please note that in certain geographic areas, there are a limited number of alumni interviews available. Candidates are strongly encouraged to schedule an interview as early as possible. Alumni interviews are weighted equally with on campus interviews and are available only to students who do not interview on campus.
Our Admissions staff travels to close to 600 high schools every fall to meet with interested students. View the current fall 2011 schedule of visits in your area by navigating to your state/territory on this page. International events are listed at the bottom of the state list. These sessions generally cover academic and extracurricular opportunities, as well as the admissions process. Any questions about Bowdoin will be welcomed. If Admissions staff will be visiting your high school, you will receive a letter and email notifying you of the date and time of the visit (assuming, of course, you are on our mailing list).
